A new school year has arrived, with all of the excitement and some apprehension that each new year brings. NPAECT is embarking on a new year also. We have had some initial planning sessions, and our new President, Robert LaPlaca, and others will be posting information here as the year progresses. It looks like an exciting year ahead for NPAECT, and we hope that more people will come along with us as we explore the ways that Communications and Technology can enhance learning for of us.
Looking back over 2007-2008, NPAECT made some changes and started some new opportunities. Our dinner/sharing meetings were held at IU5 in Edinboro which seems to be more central and helped to increase attendance. We will continue to hold the dinner/sharing meetings there in November and in March. Watch for more information about those meetings as the dates approach.
We held our first-ever full day conference and had about 50 participants. Very positive comments were provided to us about the conference, so that will be continued this year on October 18th, with some exciting additions to the conference choices.
Our website was given a major update, becoming more interactive and informative for our members. It is the place to come for the most current information about NPAECT and its programs.
The Tech Fair and Student Showcase once again provided opportunities to showcase the projects being done by students in the classrooms of our region. The venue will change for the event this year, but the focus will remain on spotlighting the many technology-rich learning activities going on in classrooms throughout our area.
So, please watch this site for announcements and commentary on the use of technology in education. To the other officers and involved members of NPAECT who helped so much during my term as President, I want to say “thanks” and I look forward to what we have planned for 2008-2009. -Connie Sitterley, NPAECT Past President

Over the next few days our site will be undergoing a slight makeover. At times the site may look strange or may even load incorrectly. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the time has come for some site cleanup.

The summer has been busy for us at NPAECT as we plan for the many great events scheduled for the 2008-2009 school year. Our first event of the school year will be our 2nd Annual NPAECT 3C’s Conference on October 18th, 2008. We have much planned for this event and can’t wait to see all of you there! The conference is still in the planning stages but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on the progress. Check back to this site for updates!

We hope to see all of you in October!
The NPAECT Team
It is time again for the NPAECT Extra Mile Award Dinner and Recognition Event. Each year, we gather to honor those folks from our learning communities who have made the effort, taken the initiative, supported others and helped to encourage the use of Technology in our schools. We have recognized some outstanding people over the past years and expect the group to be just as worthy this year.
The event is a dinner meeting held at Nick’s Place in Edinboro. The buffet is always good and the Connecting, Communicating, Collaborating and Celebrating makes the evening enjoyable. We have two wonderful speakers who will be sharing their thoughts about Technology in Education.
Join us at 5:30 for appetizers and conversation. Extra Mile Award winners and a guest will be NPAECT’s guests for the dinner. The dinner is included in membership for current members. Others who may wish to attend can become members ($15/year) or can pay for the dinner ($8). Registration is open. Please register by May 2nd.
The dinner and celebration will be a great way to begin the end of the school year. Please join us!
